Of course, the staff of Promise Place would love nothing better than to work ourselves right out of a job! What?! You read that correctly… even in today's economic climate. "Why," you ask? Because…

Because 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 5 or 6 boys will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday.
Because the effects of abuse can be devastating and life-long.
Because these children grow up to be troubled adults living painful and difficult lives.
Because too many victims will attempt or commit suicide believing there is no help available.
Because we can do more to mend these broken souls.
Because helping them secures our future.
Because they deserve better… and so do we.
Because abuse shouldn't be a rite of passage.

We are not content to watch our families succumb to increasing incidents of family violence. We strive to be part of the solution – not only by responding to existing family violence situations, but by helping prevent future generations from suffering the same fate. The true mission of Promise Place is to prevent future victims of child abuse and family violence by promoting positive parenting, healthy families, and homes where children are valued and loved.
